The FIAT Emblem - 1968
In the Sixties Fiat managed to quadruple its car production compared to the previous decade. Exports rose, now reaching 150 countries worldwide, and the international spirit that had characterised the Turin Company since the very beginning became consolidated.
This led Fiat to unify its advertising and brand image. The result was a logo with a modern graphic character that made the various different advertising and information messages recognisable at first glance. It took the form of the four cubes slanting at 18 degrees, spelling out the word Fiat in italic 'univers' typeface on a blue background (black on the vehicles for the first few years). This became the official signature both of the industrial Group and Fiat cars (family feeling) UNTIL 1982. This was when the four cubes appeared together with a stylised logo, the famous five bars, for the first time - on the front grille of the Panda.
