The FIAT Emblem - 1925
In 1925, for example, the Fiat 509 used a logo with the acronym in white on a blue background, which continued until 1929. This model was the first mass-produced Fiat utility car and within around a year it had become the most popular car in Italy. A total of 90,000 were made.
The success of this model was due not only to its mechanical characteristics but to a choice of six different versions, plus a further initiative that was revolutionary for the time - the possibility of buying it in instalments or, as one said then, 'on credit' through the Sava company which was founded in 1925.
